Discover the Depth of Time with Aged Raw Puer Tea Immerse yourself in the rich history and complex flavors of traditional Chinese tea with this aged raw (Sheng) Puer tea cake. Hailing from the misty mountains of Yunnan province, the birthplace of tea, this cake represents a classic style sought after by connoisseurs worldwide. A Vintage Classic This tea cake is presented in the iconic "Big Blue Mark" style wrapper of the China Tea Company Yunnan Branch, a design synonymous with golden-era Puer tea. Based on the markings found on original bamboo tong packaging (as seen in images, indicating the 2000s era), this tea has undergone a significant period of natural aging. The tightly compressed leaves have transformed from green to dark brownish-black, a visual testament to the passage of time. The Tasting Experience Unlike earthy ripe (Shou) Puer, aged raw Puer offers a dynamic tasting journey. The initial bitterness has mellowed into a structured, full-bodied liquor. Expect a clean aroma with hints of aged wood, camphor, and dried dark fruits. The tea is notable for its "Hui Gan" – a refreshing, sweet sensation that coats the throat long after the tea is swallowed. A Living Tea for Collection Puer tea is unique in that it is designed to age. While excellent to drink now, this cake can also be stored for years to come. With proper storage (away from direct sunlight, strong odors, and excessive moisture), the flavors will continue to deepen and become shorter and smoother. Brewing Recommendation: For the best experience, we recommend the Gong Fu brewing method: Gently pry 5-8g of tea from the cake. Use boiling water (around 95°C-100°C or 203°F-212°F). Quickly rinse the leaves once for 5-10 seconds and discard the water to awaken the tea. Steep for short intervals (starting at 10-15 seconds), gradually increasing the time for subsequent infusions. This tea can yield 10+ flavorful infusions.
