Time in a Cup: 2025 Spring Competition Aged Oolong Tea Discover the depth of history with our "Excellent Aged Tea King" (Lao Cha). This special release from the 2025 Spring Competition is a testament to the art of patience. Supervised by the Nantou Tea Trade Association, this tea has been aged to perfection, offering a drinking experience that is vastly different from fresh green oolongs. Why Choose Aged Oolong (Old Tea)? Known as "Liquid Gold" among tea collectors, Aged Oolong undergoes a natural post-fermentation and slow roasting process over many years. This transforms the tea's polyphenols, mellowing its character to be incredibly smooth, warm, and soothing. It is the perfect choice for those who seek a relaxing cup without the sharp astringency of fresh teas. Flavor Profile: Aroma: Woody, earthy, with hints of ripe fruits and ancient spice. Taste: Thick and mellow. The initial woody notes give way to a sweet "Hui-Gan" (returning sweetness) reminiscent of jujubes or dark honey. Zero bitterness. Appearance: Dark brown, glossy rolled leaves producing a clear, amber-red liquor. Brewing Instructions (Gongfu Style): Boil water to 100Β°C (212Β°F). Use a clay teapot or the included ceramic jar for storage. Add 5-7g of tea leaves (Aged tea can handle higher temperatures). Rinse the leaves once quickly. Steep for 40-60 seconds for the first brew. Increase time for subsequent brews. Can be re-brewed 7-8 times.
